Project Life {Week 30}

Here we are back around to another week of Project Life.  I'm still slowly getting caught back up and I will get there, I'm determined.  Things are mass crazy here. We are moving in two weeks, I have too many projects in progress, we have two trips planned for the rest of the year, yikes!  Got to love the holidays.

This week is actually two spreads in one.  We went to John's Family Reunion at the end of the week.  I wanted to do a full spread for this because it is normally a lot of catching up with family, hanging out and having fun.  There are not usually a lot of detailed stories, normally just a lot of picture smiling.  I knew this would probably be my only real documentation of the weekend.  I also knew that I had enough pictures to probably fill two or three spreads.  Which told me I didn't want to try and fit a whole week into one two page spread.  Enter a spread for the weekend itself.

Here is out it worked out:

Not a lot going on expect us being goofy and hanging out before we left.

I left the upper right corner blank right now.  I have some papers from the weekend I want to put in there.  I can't find them right now.  I know they are around my house somewhere there.  Don't you just love that?

We spent the afternoon at the beach one day.  Jalyn loved it, she loves to dig in the sand so much.  It was a good get away for her.  She was a little overwhelmed by all the people at the reunion.

Project Life {Week 28}

Welcome to another week of Project Life!  I have to say that I love this project.  I love telling these everyday stories that might otherwise have gone untold.  I love that some weeks are heavy on the stories, some are heavy on the pictures and some are a great combination of both.  I love that I can make it super simple or make it more scrappy.  I know that is a lot of love, but I really do LOVE this project.

This past weekend I managed to get nine weeks of photos trimmed, round the corners and put in my page protectors.  Hopefully, this week and coming weekend I will be able to knock out a few of the weeks of journaling.  I don't mind being behind a couple of weeks but I don't like being months behind.  So, yeah for making a huge stride in getting caught up.

On to this weeks spread.  This week is really heavy on the photos.  Not a whole lot of words.  I'm ok with that though.

Project Life {Week 26-27}

Welcome to Project Life.  This week I'm posting two weeks.  Slowly getting caught up with everything.  It is really not bothering me that I'm about three months behind.  I know that I will be able to sit down and catch up pretty quickly.  I feel like I have a good groove going when it comes to PL.  Since Hurricane Sandy is around I get a day off from work.  We will see how long my electricity lasts, but I'm planning a catch up project life day.

Week 26 {July 2nd-8th}
This week was 4th of July so I have one extra insert.  We didn't do too much for the day because it was so hot and I didn't want Jaleesa out in that heat.

Project Life {Week 25}

Welcome to another week of Project Life.  Sorry I missed last week.  I was not going to make getting two posts up for the week.  I just ordered 300 pictures from Snapfish today.  They have a special through Wednesday I think it is 300 prints for $30 shipped.  Perfect for playing catch up with project life!  Those should be in this weekend, so I'm looking forward to some great scrappy time.

Anyways, on to this week.  This was the week of my birthday so I just have one insert this week with my cards from friends and family.  Otherwise, a pretty simple week.  Time at home with family and getting use to my new family of four.  Still learning the art of balancing both girls in the week.  I'm sure as I continue this will get easier.

Project Life {Week 24}

I have to say that I'm still a couple months behind.  I'm determined to catch up though.  I also have to say I really love this project.  I love that it lets me capture the day to day, capture those moments that might not get a scrapbook layout.  It also allows me to not feel so guilty about not getting things scrapped.

Anyways- on with my week 24.  This week brought John's parents for the weekend.  They came to meet Jaleesa for the first time and spend Father's day with John.  It was nice to have them here. 

Simple layout this week.  Not a lot of long stories.  Just a few quick notes.  One insert for John's Father's day cards a 6x12 cut off at the top.

Project Life {Week 23}

Welcome to another week of Project Life.  Slowly getting caught back up.  I actually have all of June done now and will probably do a double post next week.  I didn't get the pages photographed during the day so they are a little dark. 

This is the 2nd week after my daughter was born.  My parent's were in town for the first part of the week.  So there are a lot of photos from them and a quick trip into the District to play tourist.  Which we love doing by the way!

Just a quick note.  I don't stress about the order of my pictures.  I really just put them together how they fit best in the week.  The front of insert one actually happened after my parents left.  But, the right side and the back of insert one all happened on the same day.  I wanted those pictures together so I just went with the flow.

Project Life {Week 22}

Hello and Welcome to another week of Project Life.  This week marks the birth of my sweet 2nd baby girl Jaleesa.  I actually did two 2 page spreads this week.  I did the three days that we were in the hospital in one spread and then did the whole week in another spread. 

Overall {May 28th-30th}

I decided not to use anything from the Cobalt edition of Project Life for this spread. I had some great Heidi Grace Paper that I have had forever. It had a lot of great colors in it to play with and use as the base for this spread.



 

Left side: (Design A)

This side holds her birth stats, full name, her very first pictures and a short version of her birth story.  Which includes me driving myself to the hospital, John almost missing the whole, thing and her coming before the epidural can kick in.

 

Right side: Design A

Includes some pictures, I took with the self timer on the camera, the first pictures of her and her big sis, her getting ready to come home.  Also, includes a little note to her.

 

This shows what is under the 4x6 vertical picture when you flip it up. (On the back of the car seat picture, I will be adding a picture of my cousin Coy at the hospital.  Need to get the picture from my mom.  I don't know what I would have done without him! Thank you so much for coming to take care of Jalyn so John could come to the hospital.)

 

Overall {May 28th-June 3rd}

I'm sure it will come easier as this goes to get a good mix of both girls.  This week not only included Jaleesa's birth but my mom visiting, my dad coming a few days later.

Project Life {Week 20 & 21}

 

Hello and Welcome to this week's Project Life.  I'm actually going to show you two weeks this week.  Very simple weeks for me.  Not the amount of crazy inserts that I had last week.

 

First up is Week 20 (May 14th-20th).  I just had one insert this week.  A couple of Jalyn's pictures from school.  I just inserted them into a 8.5x11 page protector from Office Depot.
