{Scrappy Goodness} Let's Grow Old Together

Hello and Welcome!  Today I'm sharing with you a layout I did for the Memory Nest DT.  It happens to be my final layout has a design team member.  I have to say that I have loved being on Leslie's design team.  She is an amazing person to work with.

This week is a color challenge over on the blog.  I just loved the color combination this week.  It was so much fun and perfect for Valentine's Day!  There is also a twist this week to use a phrase from the list as a title.  Also, Leslie is starting to over kits for the monthly color challenge that you can purchase.  You can check those out here.

Here is my take on the challenge.  I actually used this sketch from My Scraps and More Sketches.  I was feeling like I needed an extra push this week.

I really love how it all turned out.  When I'm done with every layout I always show my husband.  He said I would love to grow old with you.  And then he said I love it, let's hang it up.  He is such a cheese ball but I love it.

{Scrappy Goodness} Our Happy

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Today the Memory Nest DT is sharing with you a sketch challenge for Make It Monday.  I have to say the DT did a great job with the sketch.  I enjoyed seeing what everyone created.

I decided to do this layout of my mom holding me when I was first born.  I am just really in love with this picture.  I am so extremely lucky to have the most amazing mother.

I also entered this in to CSI for their #106 case file.  The colors in the photo matched the color scheme for the week so perfectly.  Here is how I solved the case...

Evidence-arrows, speech bubble, circles
Testimony-I did my journaling on the back of my layout. I used numbering.
I love that...
1. I have similar pictures of these with my girls. It is fun to see the different generations.
2. My mom is wearing blue eye shadow. She always as some sort of make-up on.
3. It is just the two of us.
4. My mom looks amazing for just having a baby. I'm pretty sure I looked like a hot mess.
5. The joy and love on her face. You can see the excitement on her face and I love that.

{Scrappy Goodness} UR2 Cute & Be Happy Today

Happy Thursday!  Today I am sharing two layouts I did for the Memory Nest.  Leslie was nice enough to send me some My Mind's Eye Adorbs collection to create with.  This is such a fun line.  Lots of bright, girly colors, which is right up my alley.

The first layout I did of my youngest daughter standing in my shoes.  The tell me a story card slides out for some hidden journaling.

{Scrappy Goodness} The Best Day

Sorry, it has been way to long since I posted!  I have to say I am so glad that the holidays are over.  I always plan and do way to much that time of year.  And this year, I also started a new job that is completely different than I have ever done before.  It is proving to be a huge learning curve for me.  But, I think I'm going to like it once I figure everything out.

Ok, so on with what I wanted to share today!  I did this layout for the Memory Nest January color challenge.  I didn't get it in on time but wanted to share it with you anyways because I loved this color combo!

I used combination of Bo Bunny's Woodland Winter line and Fancy Pants Timbergrove line.  I love both of these lines!  They are really beautiful and combine well together.

I love this picture from one of our outings this December.  It was REALLY cold and raining.  But, we were troupers and went to see the National tree and Santa Claus anyways.

{Scrappy Goodness} Dream House

Hello and Happy Monday!  I don't know about you but I think I need a couple days off to recoup from the weekend.  It was jam packed with holiday hoopla.  Today marks a new challenge reveal over at the Memory Nest.  This week is a color challenge with a theme to use winter or Christmas and a twist of texture. Such a fun challenge this week.

I had this picture of my sister and I from when we were younger.  Excuse the hair it and nightgowns it was the 80's.  When I saw this picture it reminded me instantly of getting this Barbie Dream House.  It was one of my all time favorite Christmas gifts.  It was one of the first times I remember discovering my love for interior design.  I use to sit and rearrange all the furniture all the time and more the rooms around, put up fake wall paper and so on.  Aww... the memories.

Anyways on with my layout.  I needed some extra scrappy inspiration this week, so I used a cute sketch I saw over at My scraps and more sketches. It helped jump start my layout.  I decided to switch the orange in the color challenge out with the pink so that it would blend with my photo more.  I know, I know not really suppose to do that in a color challenge but I wanted to use this photo so bad.  It case you didn't catch it I used the theme Christmas. :) And for my texture element I used embossed papers.  The pink snowflake, polka dot and ornament paper are all embossed and glittery.

Edited to change overall photo and add one more close up.  I kept starring at the layout thinking it was not complete.  I decided to add a few enamel dots and a title and it felt more finished.  I'm liking it a lot better now. :)

Happy Monday!  Today is another challenge reveal for the Memory Nest.  Today is a sketch challenge with a twist to use a pharse off of the picture as our title.  Make sure you check the blog for all the details.

I decided to use on old Pink Paislee line Portfolio for this layout.  This sketch is so much fun.  I can see myself using it again.

{Scrappy Goodness} 5 Thankful Reasons

Happy Monday!  It is time for a new challenge over at the Memory Nest today.  This week is a fun challenge using fall colors, triangles and lots of thankfulness.

I decided to use Basic Grey's Persimmon collection.  I really love this line!  It is so fun to work with.  I decided to do a layout about my husband and I.  I am trying to do more of those.  You know with kids you tend to always scrapbook them. Anyways, on with my layout.  For the twist portion of the challenge I used a punch to create photo corners.  The I used them as arrows.  I loved how it turned out.

{Scrappy Goodness} Life is good

Happy Monday!  Today is a new challenge reveal for Make It Monday at the Memory Nest.  This week is a sketch challenge with a twit to use a selfie.  I'm not going to lie this was a hard challenge for me.  I don't tend to do to many layouts of myself.

I kept it pretty simple this week and followed the sketch pretty closely.  I used an old line I had from Echo Park.

And a few close-ups:

{Scrappy Goodness} Happy and Thankful

Happy Monday!  It is a new reveal day for The Memory Nest.  Today we have a fun fall challenge for you.  This week our challenge was to use the color scheme with a fall theme.

I used Echo Park's Fall Reflections kit for this challenge.  The colors work perfectly for it.  This is a picture I took of my girls last fall when we went to a local pumpkin patch.  I kept it pretty simple this week.

{Scrappy Goodness} Love

Happy Monday!  Today I'm sharing a layout I did for the new challenge over at The Memory Nest.  Today's challenge is to use Ombre with a twist and use watercolors, sprays/mists, stencils or stamps.

I used an older Kaisercraft line called Butterfly Kisses. I really only used the chipboard accents and the die cut butterfly paper beauty.

I'm going to do my best to explain what I did this week.  For the twist I used paint.  Which isn't on the list specifically but in the same type of family, I decided.  I started with a basic purple.  I guessed at about what a fourth of the page would be and painted directly onto white cardstock.  I then added little bit of white paint to my basic color and did another strip of purple.  I continued adding white until I had four different shades getting lighter each time.

Overall:

Once I let the purple dry I used this paper and carefully removed all the butterflies from it.
Butterfly Kisses - 12 x 12 Die Cut - Beauty

I laid the paper over the top of my purple to use as a stencil and used white paint to paint the butterflies on.  A couple of the butterflies are not perfect but I think overall it turned out pretty good.

A few of close-ups of the rest of my layout using the chipboard pieces from the collection and some dolies.  I also kept the butterflies from the die cut paper and added those in a couple of places

Thank you for looking.  I hope you will join in with the design team and create your own ombre challenge.  Also make sure you head over the blog and see all the great inspiration they have for you today.
