PB&J success!

Most of you have heard our long roller coaster of a journey with Jay's eating.  She has been in feeding therapy since we moved here in August.  Some days John and I feel like we are making huge progress and other days we feel like we aren't getting anywhere.  It is just part of the normal process with FT.

Above is a typical meal process for her.  It always includes something that she loves (peanut butter) something new we are trying to get her to accept or try (carrots), and something that combines the thing she loves with something new (peanut butter sandwich with jelly).  We do for at least one meal a day and are working towards two a day.  Then the rest of the meals and snack time is always something she loves with no pushing of new things.  This way she knows that if she does a great job with everything she will be able to enjoy what she wants to eat the rest of the day.  FT is a lot of trial and error to see what works and playing with her food.  Having her baby or animals eat it first and then she eats it or she licks or eats it and gets some juice.

This week though we had a huge breakthroughs!  She hate half a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, licked all the peanut butter off of her carrots and even took a bite out of a carrot! Lovin' it!
