32 during 32 | Visit a Smithsonian

A day at the Hirshhorn Museum

When I suggested that we visit the Hirshhorn Museum to John, I was surprised by is reaction.  I was expecting him to say can we pick a different one.  However, he said sure sounds like fun.  I was a little worried how Jalyn would do with it being an art museum and I wasn't really expecting too much geared toward children.  Once again I should of bite my tongue because Jalyn loved it.  I have to say once again the Smithsonian Museums did not fail to be anything but wonderful.  I not only checked off something on my 32 list I also checked something off my life list. (I want to visit all 19 museums.)

I have to say John kept me laughing and smiling through the whole thing.  If you have never been to an art museum with John you are missing out.  His commentary on what things look like to him will have you almost peeing your pants.  I know it isn't his favorite thing but he loves that I love it!  I know, I know I'm lucky.

I also have to say that the people who were working on this particular day were so nice and helpful.  Maybe because we went through the week and it wasn't quit so busy, so they could relax a little.  Anyways, they let us know which exhibits were kid friendly and we hit those up first to entertain Jalyn as long as possible.

Currently they have an exhibit called Suprasensorial.  It is all about the senses.  Jalyn really loved the lights and what the security guards called the car wash.  Which was actually kind of right on.

After that we hit up some of the other exhibits.  Jalyn also really loved the Zodiac exhibit.  Manly because it was animals which is right up her ally.  She loves her animals.

Another item crossed off and a day of family fun accomplished!  Lovin' this little life of ours.

Have a beautiful day! Smiles, Jessica
