{Scrappy Goodness} Love

Happy Monday!  Today I'm sharing a layout I did for the new challenge over at The Memory Nest.  Today's challenge is to use Ombre with a twist and use watercolors, sprays/mists, stencils or stamps.

I used an older Kaisercraft line called Butterfly Kisses. I really only used the chipboard accents and the die cut butterfly paper beauty.

I'm going to do my best to explain what I did this week.  For the twist I used paint.  Which isn't on the list specifically but in the same type of family, I decided.  I started with a basic purple.  I guessed at about what a fourth of the page would be and painted directly onto white cardstock.  I then added little bit of white paint to my basic color and did another strip of purple.  I continued adding white until I had four different shades getting lighter each time.

Overall:

Once I let the purple dry I used this paper and carefully removed all the butterflies from it.

I laid the paper over the top of my purple to use as a stencil and used white paint to paint the butterflies on.  A couple of the butterflies are not perfect but I think overall it turned out pretty good.

A few of close-ups of the rest of my layout using the chipboard pieces from the collection and some dolies.  I also kept the butterflies from the die cut paper and added those in a couple of places

Thank you for looking.  I hope you will join in with the design team and create your own ombre challenge.  Also make sure you head over the blog and see all the great inspiration they have for you today.

Have a beautiful day! Smiles, Jessica
