18 Weeks Tomorrow and a sweet potato!

This might be a long one. I feel like I have a lot to catch everyone up on. I went to the doctor on Wednesday. Everything was good. My blood pressure was a little up last time but this time it was perfect, 109 over something. They were really happy with it. I haven’t gained any weight since last time. They took some blood to test for some type of genetic disorders. We should find out the results next visit. My doctor rattled off a bunch of stuff that it was included in the test. I asked if my insurance covered it and if she felt it was important; she said yes, so I said yes.

I heard the heartbeat again. I love to hear it; it is really cool. The baby’s heartbeat was in the 140s, which was good. Next month will be the big visit because we will get to have another ultrasound! John is so excited. He just wants to see the picture so he knows everything is ok. We will get to find out if it is a boy or girl, which will be fun! Also, we will tell everyone what we will be naming the baby! I like to tease him about seeing two heartbeats this ultrasound. He doesn’t like that joke too much.

I am convinced we are having a boy. There is a really long and personal story behind that. Although everyone keeps telling us we are having a girl. Our friends, Paul and Amanda had a boy about six months ago. Paul likes to tease John about when his girl comes he will have to keep that Wilson kid away from her. He also asks him when he is going to start coaching girl’s basketball. It is really funny because Paul never misses a beat and just quietly slides some sort of comment into the current conversation. I guess we will find out next month.

My great friend and awesome advice giver, Robin is moving home to California. I am really sad that I will not get to see her too often anymore. However, she is only a phone call or email away. She stopped by one day to give me the cutest baby gift! I posted some pictures of it. I think the outfit is super cute. I miss Robin already! I will definitely miss receiving cds from her of music. She makes the greatest mixed cds and they are always playing in my office and car! I think it surprises her at times that I know a lot of the oldies! (Thanks, Dad!)

It is hard to believe our baby will be that small. Two Cute Right!
I have another friend, coworker of mine that brought me a gift the other day. She gave me two notebooks. One is the perfect size to make all my lists for the baby or anything in. The other one is more of an idea notebook. It has one side with slots to cut out pictures and keep or whatever. I have already started using the list notebook. In case any of you don’t know, I am a huge list maker. I am continually making lists for everything. It is my way of not getting overwhelmed with having to remember everything. I also usually carry some type of notebook with me at all times. I don’t really consider myself an artist but I do get hit with ideas a lot for paintings, quilts, scrapbook pages, design ideas and more. I like to write them down so I don’t forget them. I have many notebooks with these things in them.

Other than all of that things are going well here! We are looking forward to the temperature dropping some. It was nice a couple of days last week. I actually had my windows open a couple of weekends ago! However, Mother Nature likes to tease us, so it went back up to 95!

Until next time,
Love always, John and Jessica
