On Christmas Eve, we went to the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda. Yes, I went to a republican's birthplace. However, Nixon was really into model trains. My dad loves them as well so we went to see the exhibit they have there. Growing up he was always taking us to see different exhibits it was always a lot of fun. There is so much time and work that goes into setting up a village.
My dad and John are both history buffs so they enjoyed reading all the different exhibits there. So, even if you might stroke from walking in to a place of a former republican president, it was still cool to experience and read all the history. I honestly didn't know a whole lot about Nixon. I actually enjoyed myself and learned a lot.
One of the exhibits there was a city and train tracks constructed out of Legos. They had a list of about 15 things to find in the city. We spent a good hour looking for the 15 items. Yes, we are dorks. But, what else are you going to do on Christmas Eve.
Christmas Day was pretty quite. Though, I was feeling better poor Jay was not. She just laid in my lap most of the morning. She wasn't really interested to much in even trying to play with anything. I felt so bad for her. The only good thing is she won't remember it.
My mom's tree
My sister and my mom made our traditional Christmas dinner meal. Noodles, mashed potatoes, vegetables and a roast. It was fantastic!
I was so excited because I got a new camera for Christmas! I needed one so bad. It is a fantastic turquoise color. I am still learning what it can and can't do but I am in love!
The next couple of days we just hung out, took naps, read and watched movies. It was a really relaxing time.
Next year, I have decided I want to have snow for Christmas. I am not sure how I will make that work but that is my goal right now!
Hope everyone had a fabulous Holiday Season as well.
Lots of Love,
