{Scrappy Goodness}Hello Story Week 1

Today I wanted to take a minute to share a layout I did for the Hello Story Class that I'm taking at Big Picture Classes with Ali Edwards.  I just love her and her class as been amazing so far.  We are three weeks in and I find that I can't wait until Thursday's when we get an new assignment.

Our first assignment was all about timelines.  I decided to create a layout about my oldest, Jalyn.  Let me tell you this layout was completely out of my comfort zone.  I never journal this much in the open.  If you have been a long time reader of my blog you know that I am a huge fan of journaling on the back of my layout or hidden journaling such as tags etc.  It actually has nothing to do with my handwritting, it is more about the content.  I don't always feel the most confident about what I write.

I saw this on pinterest and my brain went in overdrive to try and figure out how to turn it into a layout. This is what I finally came up with.  The biggest hurdle was figuring out what size the hexagons should be, then making sure it looked balanced.

The pictures I selected are a timeline format for sure, from when Jalyn was a baby until she was five.  The journaling is more random thoughts about here, some of them pertaining to the photo some that just popped in my head as I was working.

Overall 2 page layout:

Have a beautiful day! Smiles, Jessica
